Email Templates and Tags

ParaInvite uses a special template system that basically translate real physical template files onto your Joomla editor. We do this because we understand that most Joomla editors do not fulfill the needs of real email design. As such, with the use of physical template files, we can use our favorite code editors to improve our designs, including making them responsive.

Another reason for this is based on both users feedback and from our own experience. Previously, ParaInvite handled multiple languages in emails by placing HTML codes in language files (like other similar extensions). This is tremendously inconvenient and difficult to manage. With the new template system, you basically create multiple template files, each file for each language. Easy peasy! If a language template is not found, it will still default back to English, no problem.

Special Email Tags

{avatar:width}

Displays the user's avatar (if you have JomSocial, EasySocial, Community Builder, or JomWall installed). Width is a number to set the width of the picture in pixels.

{name}

Sender's full name

{email}

Sender's email address

{uid}

Sender's user ID. This is super useful in cases where you wish to construct a link to a page related to the user, like his photos, events, profile, etc

{custom_message}

Display where you wish to display the custom message. Note that custom message can be enabled/disabled for each service.

{link}

A link that simply uses the {rawlink} as text.

{rawlink}

The actual link. Most people will use this tag to construct the link back to your site, either for invites content sharing.

{PUMK}

"People You May Know". This tag intelligently parses through invites history and records of past user's contacts import and searches for potential friends who are already registered on your site.

This will increase the likelihood for users to accept the invitation.

{esfield:UNIQUE_KEY}

Add the value of an EasySocial field belonging to the user

{cbfield:cb_fieldname}

Add the value of an Community Builder field belonging to the user

{jsfield:cb_fieldname}

Add the value of an JomSocial field belonging to the user

{title}

Applicable for schemes that are used to share various content.

This will display the article's title, EasySocial/JomSocial group name, SIMGallery album name, or SIMAnswers question title, depending on how your scheme and module is configured.

{membername}

Applicable for schemes that are used to share various content.

This will display the article's creator, profile's owner, group's owner, SIMGallery album owner, or SIMGallery question asker.
