Importing GEDCOM files - linking

It seems as though when I import a GEDCOM file, it's only properly linking the first child the import encounters to both parents. All subsequent children get linked to one parent or the other. I was able to duplicate this behavior in a GEDCOM file created by the SIMBunch software (created on website, exported, imported). Any clues/suggestions/workarounds?

I've missed a step or something - unable to create tree, domain not appearing in subscriptions area. Thanks for any assistance.
