Cannot clear contents of date fields? In `particular birth date.

As you already know there are various dates on various records in the family trees I have created where the birth date is incorrect. Due to an incompatibility with the gedcom file I used for loading the tree.

I think on some occasions the load has populated some date fields with the current date.

I was hoping to be able to correct these problems by hand.

It appears that there is no way to remove a date from a date field. The software only seems to allow a user to change a date. Not remove it.

Is this correct? If yes, I feel that an enhancement to the software may be required.
