Menu link "Lates Album"

I use in Joomla the menu link "Latest Album" that comes with SimGallery. Currently is shows all the albums that were set up by the users, which brings a long list. I do not understand the logic behind this, what does "latest..." mean? Can I configure the amount of albums by date or the number of albums to be displayed?
